Hi! I’m Rick Hendricks and I lead the local outreach efforts for NSBC through the Commission Team. I joined the North Side staff in August 2006 and have led Project Love, our ministry to inner-city children, since its inception in January 2004. It has been an awesome blessing to have my wife, Joyce, at my side as we’ve told hundreds of kids about Jesus at Project Love and watched many give their lives to Him!
I also help direct Shake N Shine, our annual camp at Erskine College for inner-city children. We have other local outreach possibilities on the horizon and I am so amazed that God would use me in some small way to reach others for Him.
Jeff Lethco led me to Christ and baptized me here in September 2001. I have a passion for telling others about Jesus because I know from my own life what a difference He can make. I take very seriously Christ’s orders to “Go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19),” and am encouraged daily that He will be with us “until the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20).”
Joyce and I live in Greenwood and have two grown children and two beautiful grandchildren. Grandson Austin is almost 9 and lives and breathes the game of baseball while year-old Reagan Grace is crawling like crazy and dangerously close to walking.
I am also employed by Erskine College as News Coordinator. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina (eat your heart out!) and spent 20 years in the newspaper business before I met Jesus. I have also earned an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary and am in the midst of work on a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry from that school.
