The Blessed Hope Recovery Group (BHRG) is a Commission Team of North Side Baptist Church. It is affiliated with Celebrate Recovery (www.celebraterecovery.com) and uses their curriculum. BHRG is a traditional twelve-step recovery fellowship which openly celebrates and proclaims Jesus Christ as our “Higher Power”. All “honest seekers”, regardless of faith or creed, who struggle with any hurt, hang-up or habit, are welcome to attend. Family members struggling with relevant “co-dependency” issues are invited as well.
The group meets weekly on Fridays for two hours from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. The meetings are held in the church’s Family Life Center, room 108 (west part of the campus, closest to the CVS and Bi-Lo on US 25). There are no dues or fees, but we occasionally receive contributions for coffee supplies. The first hour is an open-discussion, process-oriented group. After our break, we continue the second hour as a Celebrate Recovery small group “step study”.
In order to find out about the group, contact the church switchboard at 864-229-6010 and follow the instructions for Steve Hope’s voice mailbox. Steve will return your call as quickly as possible. You may also contact Steve through the church’s e-mail server: . Potential members will also find easy group contact information through self-identified BHRG members before or after several of the local “sister” twelve-step fellowship meetings, such as AA (Mason Street, St. Mark’s UMC), NA (New Life), and the “Most Excellent Way” Christian Recovery Group (at the Alcoves).
