Fred Starnes
Peak Director
Hi, I am Fred Starnes and I am the Peak Program Director at North Side. Basically, I oversee the high school and middle school student ministry. I help plan youth worship services, recruit and train youth C-Group leaders, and coordinate Student Impact Teams. I have been on staff here since January of 2006.
I am still not quite sure how I ended up at North Side. I grew up right down the road in the metropolis of Ninety Six, SC. I gave my life to Jesus Christ at the age of 14 and felt God leading me into youth ministry my senior year of high school. I graduated from North Greenville University in May of 2006 with a B.A. in Youth Ministry. In January of 2006, I was asked to help out with the middle school ministry so I said, “Sure, why not?” and the rest is history. My wife (Lee Ann) and I have been married since July of 2006.
My wife often describes herself as a soccer widow because I love soccer so much . . . probably too much. I also love college football (go Tigers!) and long walks on the beach under the starlight as waves crash against my bare feet. But seriously, I love the outdoors- whether I am hiking, fishing, skiing, or just hanging out at the lake with my family. Most importantly, I have a passion for students and seeing them fall in love with Jesus Christ and living for His glory.
